Player Spotlight – ilovebunnys2009

First name:
 Nella

Screen name: ilovebunnys2009

Tell us a little bit about yourself :

I have chronic daily headaches. Doctors haven’t found a cure yet, but holding hope that I get answers soon. I have a big heart and a kind soul. I strongly believe that everything happens for a reason in life and if (god) wanted me to live this life I will not let him down. No matter how hard it may be right now.

State, Province or Country? Missouri USA.

Astrological sign? Aquarius

What do you usually play on Pogo.com? World Class Solitaire or Kenopop.

What did you have for breakfast this morning? Donut holes.

Do you have a life philosophy? Everything happens for a reason. So laugh often, smile a lot, and love deeply. Life isn’t easy — but you sure do learn from it. Sometimes it’s hard for me to get out of bed because of the constant pain I am in, but man, I sure do try. Friendship and the support of family keeps me going, if it weren’t for them I probably wouldn’t be sitting here today filling this out!

What is your favorite Pogo.com game? Jigsaw Detective

What’s your favorite TV show? The Walking Dead

What’s your favorite drink? Lemonade

What’s your favorite season? Fall

Apart from Pogo, what are your hobbies? I love to read. I can get lost in a book for hours.

What’s the last good book you read? High Heels and Holidays by Kasey Michaels.

Who’s your hero or heroine and why? My mom is my hero. She is the strongest person I know.

If you could be invisible for a day, what would you do? I would save as many abused animals as I could.

If you could gently remove any celebrity from the spotlight, who would it be?

I wouldn’t. Life teaches us many lessons and I can only hope those people learn from their mistakes too.

Do you have a clean joke you can share with us? Sorry, can’t think of any!

How long have you been playing Pogo? Jan 2005

What makes you a unique Pogo fan? I started on Pogo when I was 15 while taking many breaks in between, but I think my kindness goes a long ways, and the kindness I find via Pogo is amazing.

I can usually be found on Pogo.com playing: All the time, mostly during the days Monday-Thursday.

Coffee, tea, or soda? Tea

Sugary treats or salty treats? Sugary

Cat, dog or small rodent? Dog — I have six currently. I adore them.

  • Chronic headaches – ouch! I have a natural remedy if you wish to try it: sit straight in a chair, take off glasses if you wear them, feet together on the floor. Using both hands, the “power finger” (“you’re number one” finger lol) touch the tip of that finger to the mastoid bone BEHIND your ears. (that will be at the bottom base of your ear – it feels like a little bump before your jaw bone.) Just touch, Do Not push, pull, lift; just hold gently. What you are seeking to feel/find is your heart beat. Continue to touch until you feel your heart beat synchronize together (beat together). This can take a minute or 15 minutes, be patient. Take your hands away slowly. If you feel a little light headed, no problems, that will go away almost immediately. This will not cure the problem but offer you some relief from the pressure. If I was there, I could show you how to do it. I teach this to people all the time. You might feel your head adjust on your spine, that is normal, and not painful, it is just a movement. You might find that one mastoid bone is protruding more than the other, this will equalize them. It cost nothing, hurts nothing, and if it gives you relief, YEAH! Let me know if you have any questions.

  • I am sorry that you suffer from headaches. I happened to see this book on headaches one day and maybe it will help you. It’s called Headache free by Suzy Cohen. It might have some answers, who knows? It sounded interesting at any rate. Good luck.

    • I will look into the book, thank you for the suggestion. I am willing to try anything or read anything that can give me some relief. This hasn’t been easy, but I am doing what I can.

    • Hi Nella,
Have the doctors checked to see if you have a gluten intolerance? Just a thought. You are a lovely lady.
      All the best to you.

      • Iris, they have indeed. I have tried many many diets and nothing makes a difference thus far. It is very frustrating. I have lost weight and the pain is still there. I can’t just give up hope.. so.. all these suggestions are helpful right now, thank you.

    • Hi Nella.
I also have headaches on a daily basis, so I know how you feel. Chronic pain isn’t fun, but you have to make due with what you’re given in life. I have DDD in my neck, so alot of my headaches come from that. But not all of them are from my neck. I also have migraines, runs in the family. When I get one of those, and my temples are throbbing, I’ve found that rubbing a little peppermint oil on them will make the headache go away (or lessen) in about 30 minutes. Give it a try. It might work for you. Take care of yourself, ok.

    • Animals and kids are my passion. I wish dearly I could safe both kids and animals from abuse. It is truly awful. Thank you for the suggestion. I will try the tea, I have tried many already and some do help subside the pain — then its like my body gets use to it and it stops altogether. Thank you, again!

  • Nella, youre lovely……… stay positive and love life always…….its the only thing we can truly call OURS…………i wish you all the best..

  • That is so nice that would like to help abused animals. I’ve saved the lives of animals. You have a good heart. I’ll be praying for your headaches to go away.

  • Hi Nella, You are young and beautiful. I loved your story. Thank you for sharing it with us. Sorry to hear you are dealing with health issues so early in your life. May life be gentle and kind with you. You have a lovely outlook on life.

  • Nella, you are awesome! I will pray for an end to your pain. Dogs rule! :)

  • Nella,

what can be said others here haven’t said? So I’ll just say thank you.

Thank you for caring about the abused animals (personally I think anyone who has abused an animal should be treated the same as they treated the animal)

Thank you for your wonderful outlook on life despite your constant pain, which I hope ends real soon.

Hope you enjoy your Spotlight time and have a wonderful weekend and I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

    • I totally agree. Same goes with people who abuse children, or anyone for that matter. No living thing deserves it! Happy Thanksgiving and thank you!!

  • Hi Nella,
My name is Shea, and I am a rescued irish setter. Mom didn’t know when she got me, I would be the nephew of her previous irish setter. My uncle passed away a month before mom was operated on. I met my uncle when he came to see a litter I was with..He loved me> I think we bonded then, but I didn’t want my uncle to die, so my mom could rescue me..But it turned out to be the best for both me and my mom..I love her for rescuing me..No one wanted me..They keep me for a while, and then turn me in. Why. I guess its because I am a vocal, and loving dog…Can you believe me a dog that can type too…No, mom is writing this for me..I and Mom will pray and send you healing rays of light through your body, And thank you for rescuing my buddies..God Bless You and Have a Happy thanksgiving. hope we can meet up some day …Shea the rescued irish setter. and My Mom..

  • Hi Nella, great profile. You are a terrific person, and are destined for great things. As a migraine sufferer like the others I do feel your pain. As one who rescues Greyhounds, it is a noble endeavour and one I hope you stick with. The love you get back from an abused animal is beyond words. Happy Thanksgiving!!

  • Hey! It’s nice to see someone my age on here! :) I hope you are cured from your headaches soon. <3

  • I love your answer to what you would do if you were invisible for a day. All four of my dogs are rescues. I not only saved them but they saved me, too. I struggle with depression and they are a big help to me. You sound like a lovely person with a huge heart. I hope a cure will be found for your headaches.

  • So very sorry to hear about your chronic daily headaches. I suffered from migraines for years, starting from when I was a child. I can remember having a sucker that a neighbor gave me (it was cheap candy) and the green dye triggered a migraine. It was trying at times, dealing with migraines but I think I have finally “outgrown” them! I still get headaches from time to time, but not nearly as severe, and not nearly as often. I hope you are able to find a solution for this; it’s no fun trying to live your life, go to work, school, etc. when your head is pounding. Have you been to see a headache specialist? I don’t think they were around when I was growing up, but I sure could’ve used one earlier in my life. I just hope you won’t have to wait as long as I did for relief! :)

Have you ever seen any of the videos on the Hope For Paws website? Some of them are so very sad…I find tears streaming down my cheeks as I’m watching.

Anyway, I hope you have a lovely Thanksgiving! Hope to run into you in a game room sometime! :)

  • Wow!!! I can’t believe I actually got chosen, and all the comments have put a smile to my face and has giving me more hope than any of you can ever understand. Thank you so much for the kind comments, emails, and friend requests. I will reply to each of you when it isn’t so late at night. I just wanted to post on here real quick. I am shocked I have been picked and I was NOT expecting this what-so-ever. So, thank you pogo for this, I have been struggling these last few weeks and this helps soo much and the support I am getting is so overwhelming for me right now. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

    • Nella I feel your pain, I was there also! My doctor, He sent me to an eye doctor. the eye doctor said I had eye strain from reading all my blue prints, & to much computer! So i have to now wear glasses, my head aches are (no) more, & I go on with life!! enjoy thanksgiving, take care of those critters also!!

  • Nella,My name is Jonus I know what it feels like to have headaches. I get migraines three times a month. I will pray that you get help and that you want have them as often. If you ever need someone to talk to I am almost anywhere on POGO [mostly Scrabble in the mornings MON.- Sun.] Take care,Happy THANKSGIVING and God bless you. I am known as goodWILDWILL58.

  • I can sympathize with your pain and frustration. I have a very similar story. Without going into details all I can tell you is to have hope. Although it occurred in several phases over a decent period of time, my situation is much improved, with regards to my headaches anyway. You are very lucky to have the love and support you need and are smart to not take it for granted.

I must say, you have a great attitude and seem wise beyond your years. It’s great that you can remain kind despite your pain. A little kindness goes a very long way. Creating positive energy benefits your own well-being too. Everyone’s happy… what’s better than that? Something tells me you already get it ;-)

  • You have an awesome spirit and know, the best way to help ourselves, is to first help others. With fibro, I know chronic pain as well. I donate time to help the elderly and people that have no one to care about them. I, too, love all animals. I cannot stand to see abuse in any form. I am in Missouri as well. Kudos neighbor. GBU and pray for your relief from those headaches.

  • i can so relate to daily headaches,as i suffered for years, until a neurologist put me on topiramate.it took several months to build up in my system, and to get the dosage correct, but i am almost headache free, and it has been life changing, have only had one migrane this year.just wanted to share with you as i know how miserable you feel.i hope this info helps. congrats on being chosen, you sound like an amazing person

  • Sorry to sound off here, but I just played Monopoly & supposed to pass go 5 times. It freezes on the last roll, didn’t get credit, as always. This is pathetic. Get it together, Pogo.
