    • How can you NOT like dogs? Seriously? Dog, cats, any animal….they are the best things this world has for us. :)

  • Hi Kelly – Thanks for your work with people as a nurse and with animals through the ASPCA, it’s important for us to reach out to others!
I think Monopoly Slots is fun too, and has great token payouts, but my piece hasn’t moved since 1920 – it’s like my version doesn’t have dice on the reels :)

  • God Bless you for the work you do to help humans and our wonderful furry friends. I am a member of the ASPCA and always support the work they do. Thank you for sharing your story with your pogo friends and stay well.

  • Hey Kelmarie! You seem like a really fun person and Monopoly slots is a great choice!! :)

  • Such a true and loving person. I will never forget my mother telling me at the age of 6 to stay away from people that don’t like animals because there is something wrong with them !!! Bless your heart for the love and help you provide not animals alone but being a nurse, people too!! I wish you a happy new year and thank you for being there for people and animals .

    • You know RED I have always heard that too.. stay away from people that don’t like animals, and so far it has proven to be correct!

  • Hey Kelmarie
I am a dog lover also, my husband and i have a Havenese. He is white, 8 yrs. old and of course spoiled. He still acts like a kid. /runs with his toys, squeeks them, and even sleeps with one of his favorites. I have Rheumatoid arthritis in all of my joints, and I know what pain is, I had to retire, as it hampered my work as a data entry operator at Syracuse University. Hope to see you on Pogo sometime.

  • Hi Kelly –

My Mom (also a nurse, RN, BSN, MSN, retired) used to raise Jack Russells on our farm. Man, they were a handful, but they could clear a barn of rats in 15 minutes (OK, not a pretty picture, but my Dad liked them for that!). They used to drive the other dogs crazy, but to a one, they were very personable, very friendly and very loving. They were great lap dogs as they would jump right up and love you while looking for the next toy to attack…high energy…now my Mom and sister raise Briards, quite the opposite in size, but great dogs. I miss those Jack Russells, they were a lot of fun growing up.

  • Hey Kelly…You’re awesome woman! :) Anyone who loves animals as much as I do, deserves a big Kudos from me. Too bad America euthanizes so many of them though. :( The shelters in my city, in Canada are “no-kill” shelters. They get shuffled around so that other cities animal adoptees can see what animals are offered and that way if one shelter doesn’t have a specific dog that someone wants, perhaps another will. A much preferred to go I think. I think all SPCA’s should shuffle animals around. At least they have a better chance at getting adopted I think. Anyway…cheers and Have a great New year ahead :)

    • I think that is a wonderful idea. I wish that the USA would start doing that. I have a hole in my back door and if you find your way in and can get past my diva and my big boy they can stay if they want or just stop in and eat! These are cats. Seems I go in streaks I had ogs before and they all passed away then I ended up wioth five cats, All strays down to 2. Kel;ly I think you are a great person. I also live in CA. in Ventura. I love it. Keep up the good work.

  • Kelly! Since almost two years ago I have learned to really appreciate the medical field! Nurses have a really hard job. My hat is off and I’m not a hugger with strangers but I would give you a big hug. So would my Trixie (pug/Brussels griffon mix). Happy New Year! Wanda

  • I think it’s awesome that you love animals like you do and that you try and help them find homes. I have 4 dogs(2 pit bulls, shih tzu, and a rat terrier/pit mix).I could not imagine life without them!

  • Kelly

  • Good work, Kelly.

  • Kelly,
i loved reading your spotlight interview. the part i liked the most was your life philosophy about holding onto the ones you love and the ones who love you. i live my life following just that. you sound like a wonderful person.

  • WTG Kelly, I also love animals! You sound like a very sweet and fun-loving person even though you have had some sadness in your life. I only wish you the best for the coming new year.

  • Kelly,

wow you’ve certainly done a lot despite what you’ve been through and what awaits.

I too am a big reader, just 3 to 4 days ago I ended Tom Clancy’s The Bear and the Dragon and started on Executive Orders which is also a Clancy book. I like how he took situations that seem too far-fetched to work but then they work anyway (a great example of that is The Sum of All Fears)

I’m sure your Winnie never stops wagging that little tail, I have a Chinese Crusted Powder Puff dog (he’s my little Commie, he never listens unless it’s his grandma) plus I have the cutest parakeet named Woodstock (named after the Peanuts bird not the hit song by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young) plus an average housecat with quite the personality and an outdoor/indoor cat that adopted me and my mom. All the animals get along well enough, well most days (Ms. Personality will attack my dog if he’s being a punk to her. But it’s normal)

Hope you have a safe new years

  • hi Kelly like your profile. This is Chris from Running Springs

  • Hope you had a great Christmas and hope you have a great new year…You sound like a sweet person,,,would love to have you as a friend.
