The Georgia summers can be very hot and humid!! Sorry to hear about your layoff. Companies are getting more and more like that these days. I hope you find something soon. Thanks for your reply, I have lived in Ellenwood pretty much all my life. I know alot about McDonough, everything in morrow closing up and have to come down there to shop. Only place to shop is Kohls or Walmart. My son and his children will be moving to the Dallas/Hiram area in June.. I will stay here as long as my mother is alive.. will not leave here in this area alone.

So very sorry to hear of your lay off after 17 years. My Dad was laid off from his job after working there 26 years (they outsourced to Mexico, displacing hundreds of long-time employees). He was 52 at the time. I pray that a door opens for you and that the new job will be even better than the old! :) And you are so right: we are not promised tomorrow.

It’s been exposed that some company’s were only laying off people that were near a retirement and they didn’t want to pay that. You do have recourse to see a lawyer,if that’s the only reason they laid you off.
The Shack is about God working his will through an unusual source…All I am gonna say. The book is a blessing. My husband read it before he died and I think it gave him an insite he never knew. Pogo was an anniversary gift to myself 8 years ago. I have met many wonderful people on here and have lost some thru death. We are not promised tomorrow and I think one of the doors that God has opened to me is to not be shy any more about my faith. In this world today more people are needing the word of God. Hi Vickey,I lived a lot of years north of the Atl – Marietta, Smyrna, Sandy Springs, Woodstock, & Cartersville. I miss my friends, but am happy to be back in Florida where I grew up. I am also a Cappy. I am sorry you lost your job but I always learned that when God closes a door, another one opens somewhere. Don’t give up. Nice profile, and keep praising God.

From someone who has made the spotlight, I truly enjoyed what you had to say…especially your life’s philosophy. I too am crazy about Dancing With the Stars. I have been unemployed for so long (not counting my music for church); however I just got a job so never give up!
