Prepare Now for the 1,000th Weekly Badge

Calling all badge lovers! Did you know the 1,000th Weekly Badge Challenge is rapidly approaching? One thousand Weekly Challenges! In honor of this amazing milestone, those who have completed 1,000 Weekly Challenges by February 26th, 2013 will be rewarded with a very special badge at a later date after confirmation. This badge will be rewarded once to those who have achieved this goal.

Not close to 1,000 challenges? Don’t fret! On January 23rd, we’ll celebrate the 1,000th badge  (although due to an accounting error, it’s only the 999th). A Weekly Challenge will be released for Thousand Island Solitaire commemorating the challenge. This challenge is available to all Club Pogo members.

We understand some past challenges may have been unusually hard for some of our players. We have determined the top 10 most challenging challenges and provided tips on how to earn the badge. We welcome players to post on these forums threads to help players out so they too can progress toward their 1,000th Weekly Challenge goal. Happy playing!

  • I have been with pogo for many many years. I hope that I will be one of the ones to receive the special badge. I admit I look forward to the new challenges every week. I enjoy most of them, but there are some like the slot games that just put me to sleep. Also, I despise rated games. I do NOT buy gems, premiums or any extras. I do have some but they were gifted to me.
But I have a friend who thinks differently about the challenges. . . She only does the ones she likes. She has her favorite games, and she enjoys playing them, never gets stressed out trying to complete a badge. I think she is the really smart one. She doesn’t buy extra gems, premiums, etc. She plays on pogo and keeps in touch with friends. She is not close to getting the special badge and she really doesn’t care.
Last year, when pogo did the change, I seriously considered just quitting. I was so frustrated because I could not load any games. Communication with pogo was virtually nonexistant. I would be on the phone for 2 hours and then get disconnected. I had to ask myself if it was worth the mental stress. Finally, my son and I figured out how to overcome the problem. Pogo was no help at all!
I agree with many that the correct thing for pogo to do would be to give the 1000 badge whenever a member reaches that milestone. I have all the badges so far, so I am not complaining for myself.
Good luck to everyone! Have fun!

    • I am whittling away my final games–they are the rated ones–I don’t care for them either–Not the new type games either

I hope to be more like your friend and play what I enjoy

I have found in trying to complete the 1000 one game that I like but had to play in rated rooms that most but not all of the players are mean. We all have to play to learn and usually I play vs robots to learn–but did the rated thing to finish some badges. I had tried it a long time ago and got insulted multiple times so I figured I would never do those unless I found friends to play with–but I can’t generally find four at once. I don’t like those rated ones at all.

Sorry for complaining but you feel better after getting it out. LOL

      ENjoy!!

      • Rated games only need at least one other player, computers can take the other 2 spots if necessary… Hope this helps you…

    • i think “pogo’s milestone” is fine…but milestones ought to be about players & individuals….why should’nt there be a personal milestone of 1000 badges with a reward…& a 2000 milestone…i’ve seen very few players with 3000…but this should go on & on…would also encourage players to perhaps buy more & play more of the ones they truly enjoy…what kinda game/badge is it that makes you feel you have to & is more like a chore…like taking out the trash,if ya will…i dont know about anyone else….but i certainly would’nt surf the net to find games that bore me or piss me off just to play…badge or not

    • I DONT KNOW WHAT YOU HAVE DONE TO THE GAMESBUT I CANNOY GET ON MY FAVORITEGAMES. DONT NEED TO SAY IT IS MY COMPUTER BECAUSE I HAVE HAD IT CHECKED TWICE. WHILE WOULD I WANT TO GIVE ANYONE A GUEST PASS WHEN THE GAMES ARE LIKE THEY ARE.I HAVE PLAYED N NEVER GOT CREDIT FOR THEM. I ALSO HAVE DONE DAILY GAMES N NOT GOT CREDIT FOR. YOU HAVE GOT WHERE YOU ARE FIXING MORE GAMES SO YOU HAVE TO USE GEMS TO GET BADGES. I WENT TO CLAIR CAME FOR TRIAL N 2 DIFFERENTTIMES YOU TOOK MY GEMS. THANK YOU VERY MUCH N HOPE TO HEAR FROM YOU.

    • I agree, I live in an area where I cannot load the new games as my telecom services do not cater for the higher speeds. Some of the newer games such as getting fruit in Beweled Blitz I actually had to get a pogo player to help me as it was so hard. I enjoy doing the weekly challenges and love the daily challenges as it reminds that there are games that I do enjoy but don’t play as often. All my badges are complete but I agree that the badge should be awarded to every player who reaches that milestone regardless of when they complete the books. You cannot except someone who has only played for 2 years to complete 5 years worth of badges. I love my premium books and mix n match badges but that is a seperate issue. Please Pogo reconsider how this badge is given – does the date matter? Completion in itself should be the incenetive for this special badge.
Please Pogo do not forget that not everyone has 4G networks I myself have phone linkup as that is what is in my area and what I can afford. Other countries outside the USA you have dearly for the use of the internet and GB allowance is expensive $30 for 3 GB per month
      otherwise I love my Pogo.
      Cheers and enjoy playing

    • HOW DO I FIND OUT HOW MANY WEEKLY CHALLENGES I HAVE ALREADY GOT?

  • We need to wait til Feb. 19……anyone that exceeds 1,000 badges should automatically get the recognition badge around that time…..after that date, it will probably be given as soon as earned. It says so in the first paragraph.

    • I don’t think you’ll get the badge if you haven’t completed 1,000 games by the 19th Feb. That means ALL weekly badges since they began in 2003.
They won’t be giving it to people when they get to 1,000 if it’s after that date. That’s what it says in the first paragraph,

      • This is the second paragraph: “Not close to 1,000 challenges? Don’t fret! On January 23rd, the 1,000th Weekly Challenge will be released for Thousand Island Solitaire commemorating the challenge. This challenge is available to all Club Pogo members.” If you’re a club pogo member, you can still get the badge, you’ll have to play the 1000 Island Solitaire game in order to get the badge…

  • If the badge was awarded to all as they reached the 1,000 it would not be special. Pogo are awarding it to long term members who have completed all the weekly challenges. Thank you Pogo I am looking forward to receiving this very special badge.

    • Anne…ty! I have also played WELL OVER the 1000 games and look forward to getting the badge. People are going to complain if it is handed to them on a silver platter. I, for one, enjoy the challenges…oh yes, we all know Pogo cheats like heck, but even then, I still win more then I lose. LOL.. Merry Christmas to all..I won’t be on much on Christmas Day (gotta cook..but most of us do..lol).

      • I have a question…I have added up every weekly challenge since it started in 2003 and it only comes to 991 (so far). So how is anybody getting more than a 1000 already? I have every badge, and I only have 991. And if there are 2 per week, it won’t be enough to get “special” badge. Can someone tell me what I am missing?

  • Help me figure this out. According to my badges and Pogo’s count, I now have 988 weekly badges. If we are given 2 badge challenges a week between now and Feb. 19, that would be 16 badges, right? That would mean I would have 1004 of them, okay? Then, I don’t have to do the rated Euchre game I can not play , or am I wrong?

    • that is the only one I liek also I cant play that game either

    • You’re right, you should be getting your 1000 badge on the 30th of January. I’m in the same boat as you, even if I get that hearts badge I will be stuck at 999 on the 23rd.

  • I see you List the top 10 most challenging challenges! The Top One you left out should be the Sock Hop Slots Mix-n-Match, Nov 14 2006.

Road to Fame and Fortune Badge

Unlock the entire Story Bonus 6 times in 4 days! (One Gold Duck and 7 Musical Notes unlocks the entire Story Bonus) Win this badge plus 2,000 tokens.

Can You Provide any Tips on this One?

    • The list refers to weekly challenges.

    • I think the worst badge of all time is the Dice Durby in the 2003 book, where you have to get 600 or more in a game 10 times. First thing is you have to win the game .. then hope and pray with your fingers and toes crossed that 600 or more comes up.. Boy was i ever so happy when i got that last 600 , it only took me 4 weeks to get that badge. I saved that till the end. so im all done, and really excited about the badge.. ty pogo

      • look for me if u want help with badges i have done all have had no spare weekly badges since jan 1st 2012 so i still need whatever i have 988 so far
some weekly i did not do (could not eg family feud and the sprints and fruit thinggy)
they just went walkabout ive not seen them since

  • i have over 1000 badges now does that qualify me for the badge thanks

    • Not if they’re weekly badges earned twice. I have 1,532 badges but only 982 different weekly badges (UK, so no scrabble badges).

  • I’ve been a member since almost day 1 but there’s too many badges that I’m missing. It would be impossible for me to make them up at this point, even if I bought additional personal challenge slots.

Despite understanding the special nature of the badge – this is a turn off to my continued patronage.

    • All because of a meaningless badge?

    • This is the second paragraph: “Not close to 1,000 challenges? Don’t fret! On January 23rd, the 1,000th Weekly Challenge will be released for Thousand Island Solitaire commemorating the challenge. This challenge is available to all Club Pogo members.” If you’re a club pogo member, you can still get the badge, you’ll have to play the 1000 Island Solitaire game in order to get the badge… Hope this helps…

  • When will people realize that this is a GAME site, and as such, should be played for fun. No one will get rich playing these games and should enjoy this form of entertainment. I have been a member for many years, playing daily. I, for one, could care less if I am awarded the “special” badge. Unless there is a monetary reward, I will continue to enjoy myself playing games for the sheer fun they provide.

    • I like your statement Anne. I feel the same way you do. If I like the game then I will play for the badge, but if I don’t like the game, I don’t play it, just for the badge. I have been a member since 1999, long before they started Club Pogo and my badge count is 749 weekly badges and it’s just fine with me not to qualify for the special badge.

    • I agree with you Anne…I’ll not be able to make the 1,000 but I will get the Thousand Island one if I understand correctly…but trust my life will not change…I play these games to relax and of course sometimes I make faces at Pogo if I can’t win…lol

    • WHEN I FIRST CAME HERE, MY SON HAD JUST DIED. A FRIEND WHO IS A MEMBER SENT ME A WEEK PASS AND THEN A 6 MONTHS MEMBERSHIP. SHE WAS HOPING THAT IT WOULD BE A DISTRACTION FOR ME AND HELP ME TO STOP THE INTENSE MOURNING THAT HAD ENDED ME UP ON MEDS TO TRY TO HELP ME AS I WAS LOSING MY MIND AND WILL TO LIVE (ALTHOUGH I KNOW MY SON IS VERY HAPPY WITH JESUS IN HEAVEN). WHAT I FOUND HERE WERE “POGO PALS” WHO LET ME SHARE ABOUT MY LOSS AND THEY SHARED WITH ME ABOUT THEIR LOSSES AND WE CRIED TOGETHER,AND EVEN PRAYED TOGETHER IN THE LITTLE CHAT SPOTS. HOW BLESSED I HAVE BEEN THROUGH THIS TIME AS I AM TRYING TO GET MOTIVATED TO DO ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING. PLAYING GAMES TO WIN BADGES HAS BEEN SOMETHING FOR ME TO FEEL I CAN ACCOMPLISH AND LOOK FORWARD TO. “POGO PALS” HAVE GIVEN ME MEMBERSHIPS SO I CAN STAY HERE SINCE I LIVE ON 700 A MO. (DISABLED WIDOW SSA). HOW GRATEFUL I AM FOR THEIR CARE. WHAT I WISH IS THAT I COULD GET A “POGO” COFFEE MUG. HOW DO U GET ONE? iF YOU KNOW, PLEASE LET ME KNOW, OK? I PRAY U ARE HAVING A GREAT CHRISTMAS AND THAT YOUR NEW YEAR WILL BE TRULY BLESSED.

  • I say here here Cyndy!! I already have 1581 badges what’s 1 more!! I wont get the 100th badge either because of the rated games. WTG for you that do. I just like to play for the fun of playing!!

  • I have 6 more to go right now for the 1000 badges. Yes, these badges are meaningless. But to me, they represent challenges – the challenge of learning a new game as well as the challenge of completing a task – and patience as well as persistence. As far as “bragging rights”, I do not brag about the badges. Why should I? If it bothers someone, that’s their problem, not mine.
Will everyone achieve 1000 weekly challenges? Of course not. Not everyone can win. But please, don’t put down folks who will have earned the badges legally – and trust me, there are folks who will have.

  • so its another badge… not like its going to do anything special. If I had time to sit and play all the time i might be worried but its just a game. A few years ago I was really into pogo but now some of the challenges are such time wasters. I was once supposed to get a badge for 5 years or 5 million or something, and I got the notification but never ever got the badge. I emailed pogo… never got a reply so quite obviously as long as you pay your subscription that’s all they care about.

  • Let me win

  • I love doing the badges, I have every weekly badge that was given out since 2003, I enjoy doing them so much I have repeated the several of the badges, I have 1348 badges earned to date. I had trouble on a couple badges that I may not have gotten them when they was suppose to be gotten but I got them. Thank you to all who played with me and helped me to get my badges done and the encouragement to keep going on the games that gave me trouble.

  • I cannot take the badge and cash it in at a Pawn shop. It has no physical or tangible properties that even suggest that I actually OWN the badge. Therefore, I will not waste my time or money to pursuit something that does not exist. I just play for the mental distraction the games provide. I don’t need a virtual icon to tell me I wasted my time. I already know that.

    • Too bad this site doesn’t have a “like” button. Several of these posts would definitely get a “like” from me!!!

    • I like your post. I thought how many days all the 1000 badges totted up to.

  • “I agree with many that the correct thing for pogo to do would be to give the 1000 badge whenever a member reaches that milestone. I have all the badges so far, so I am not complaining for myself.
Good luck to everyone! Have fun!”

I agree with this sentiment 100%. Too little notice was given to have a chance to accomplish this. I have all from 2008 to present, but would have used a different strategy regarding mix-and-match and premium badges if there was a goal for prior years badges. I would have focused exclusively on weekly badge catchup. To me it is a tremendous accomplishment to get the first 1000 when ever it is accomplished and unfair to the many members whose time to play may be limited. It is also a bit unfair to those like myself who invested in a balance of mix and match and premium badges. There is nothing special in the absence of a prior

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Happy New Years to All!

  • who gives hoot, for what pogo is going to give its not worth it. I would much rather have it back to the way it use to be years ago. Things should of been left alone. Everytime pogo does there great improvements the players are the ones to suffer!!!! Can a week ever go by without freezing up a game, or not being able to get in a room, or not being thrown out of game when your suppose to get your tokens given to you!!!! Wishing all of my friends a very happy and healthy holiday and new year!!! That seems to be the only reason left to be a pogo member. Thank you very much!!!

  • I agree with Cyndy as well. I play for fun and don’t worry too much about games I don’t like (like Euchre and Cribbage!). So I hadn’t bothered about getting those weekly badges going all the way back to 2004 when there were fewer games so more weekly badges in those games. Then I decided to just give it a try and see if I could get that last dozen. I got my final catch-up badge last night (a yucky rated Euchre badge) and I feel proud. It was hard work, but it was fun reaching for the goal. THAT is what counts, not whether I have a badge to show for it . . . . but it will be nice to have the badge too! Merry Christmas everyone, and I hope 2013 brings us all health, happiness and lots of laughter!

  • I get aggravated with pogo, I love playing and just keep hoping I don’t screw up my computer trying to make pogo work right. I will always play pogo cause I like the challenge. Its so much fun. Things were better before they improved pogo. I liked the old time pogo setup. Merry Christmas and happy safe holidays ahead.

    • I agree with you Sherri. Ever since Pogo got “improved”, games freeze up, or don’t load at all. They have increased the membership fees at least triple since I became a member and then nickle and dime us with these stupid extras! I for one liked the old Pogo. You could go in, laugh and chat with other members in game rooms. Now it is hard to even find a CHATROOM. I am probably not going to renew my membership, which is kinda sad since I have been a member since 2003. HAPPY HOLIDAYS to you and all who read this.

  • some of us are on fixed income but try to keep pogo for fun games -( but all these badges you have to buy) causes us to miss out when some have cheat sheets and money to buy their way.. you have people confined and enjoy games, but it must be dissappointing because they cant buy premeiun games. Sounds like the government taking from elders or disabled good people because only money gets what you need. i have been faithful pogo member for yearsbut cant keep buying gems anymore so i let it go and enjoy the game.. mMembership has been raised to where i can;t pay dues like before so i will play till time runs out.. I have met many wonderful people and hate to know i will lose them but for sure never forget them..God bless all pogo people and everyone have a Merry Christmas and happy New Years…

    • The 1000 badges refers to the weekly game badges since POGO initiated this program in 2003.
Weekly badge challenges have always been free. If you miss any along the way, opportunities are given each week to recoup 2 of the past badges – at no cost to the player.

    • Weekly challenges (the 1000 badges) are free and always have been free. Some folks enjoy television so pay for cable. Some enjoy the specialty phones and pay for it. I enjoy POGO
so I pay for it. I can play 24/7 and have my choice of a myriad of games. In reality, it costs around 11 cents a day – a cup of coffee costs more. Maybe if your fsmily and/or friends knew you loved POGO so much, they could “gift” you a membership for your birthday (since it’s now too late for Christmas).
I am certainly not “buying my way” and do not use “cheat sheets” (I think you mean cheat programs). You have the choice to pay for POGO. There are a lot of free games you can play if you are not a club member. Life is filled with choices, is it not? Please don’t try to make us believe that POGO is taking advantage of the elderly or the disabled. That’s not fair!

  • grdnldy43
I have three 2012 badges not compleded because they are really hard for me to win I have tried several times. I have one for 2011 that I tried alot, but can’t seem to get it. I wish you all the best. Merry Christmas. I will still work on my games.

  • I was living in England when POGO club started… I sight up first day it was available. It’s been worth it. I had to pay for every minute of online time so the club was so worth it for me so I didn’t have to pay to see the ads. Been back home in the stares sense 2008 after serving our country for many years. I was able to do up my last undone weekly challenge today. I it’s been a lot of work but so happy I’ll be totally caught up when that 1000 badge is done.

    POGO forever!

  • btw, my neurologist said that playing the games on here has been great “brain exercise” for me and is really helping my brain to function a little better. Some games are still to hard for me to figure out, but I keep trying. lol. One is “pike’s peak”. Some games move too fast for me to follow, but I just go on to something else and let it go.
