Luxor: Amun Rising HD is the sequel of Luxor HD, and the newest match-3 style game. In this adventure you are thrust into Egypt, and challenged with the task of saving the pyramids from the deadly colored spheres. This game is really easy to play and truly anyone can step in and play it right away. Just pick your spot, aim, and shoot out the spheres before they reach the end of the maze.

The game has good graphics, and the colored spheres and maze boundaries are really easy to distinguish. I found myself having little trouble seeing where I was shooting. The game offers adventure, survival, and practice modes to play in, and the variety of game modes helps combat the repetitive nature that comes with a lot of other match-3 game.

What makes Luxor: Amun Rising HD different from other match-3 games is the power ups. When you shoot out big combinations of spheres, power ups fall below and you collect them with your paddle. I liked this feature because it kept you alert while playing; you couldn’t just focus on the spheres.

Now admittedly this game can become a little slow with the lack of emphasis on a story, but it was still fun to play and the different game modes made the game play different.

If you’re a fan of match-3 style games then I know you will love to play Luxor: Amun Rising HD. I didn’t think I was the biggest fan of match-3 games before, but after playing this game I admit my opinion has changed. I would recommend everyone give this game a try and decide what you think for yourself. In my opinion this is a perfect game to play, when you’re looking for a fun way to pass some time.
